DESCRIPTION: Join us for Boettcher's quarterly&nbsp;Catalyst Conversations&nbsp;series&nbsp;&mdash;&nbsp;a virtual opportunity to showcase the incredible talents of our Alums, connect from afar, and explore unique, thought-provoking content.This quarter,&nbsp;1978 Scholar Dr. Susan Mayne&nbsp;will discuss how scientific training can lead to unexpected career opportunities, sharing her journey from academia to science-based public health leadership in the federal government.A trailblazer in nutrition science and public health, Susan&rsquo;s leadership helped eliminate industrial trans fats from the U.S. food supply &mdash; an achievement linked to thousands of lives saved each year.After serving three decades as a professor of epidemiology at the Yale School of Public Health, Susan became the director of the Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition for the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
