SUMMARY: Virtual Book Club - Strong Towns: A Bottom-Up Revolution ...
DESCRIPTION: Join us for our next Virtual Book Club on Wednesday, July 27th from 5:30 – 6:45 p.m. MT as we read Charles L Marohn Jr’s Strong Towns: A Bottom-Up Revolution to Rebuild American Prosperity. Marohn is a civil engineer with a practical perspective on city growth. In Strong Towns, he will unpack why cities struggle to fulfil the basic needs of their inhabitants and propose alternative pathways for growth in our urban environments. Ultimately, Marohn “shows community leaders a new way forward” to a sustainable quality of life in cities of all sizes. Amazon Link. At the request of the event leader it is strongly recommended to also read 'Color of Law' and/or research 'redlining' for this discussion. There will be significant discussion on the topic, which the author of Strong Towns ignores. Our virtual discussion will be led by 2004 CSM Scholar, Justin Hayes (he/him) — an oil industry executive and avid reader invested in furthering human prosperity. Please RSVP here as we look forward to seeing you during our discussion.
