Join us for our next Virtual Book Club on Wednesday, May 31st from 5:30 – 6:45 p.m. MT as we read Stephen Wolfram’s What is ChatGPT Doing… and Why Does it Work? Stephen Wolfram, recognized as the CEO of Wolfram Research as well as the creator of Wolfram|Alpha and Mathematica, is one of the premier computational minds of our time. In Wolfram’s book on ChatGPT, he will explain the big picture ideas of artificial intelligence used to facilitate ChatGPT’s incredibly human-like text generation. During our book club discussion of What is ChatGPT Doing… and Why Does it Work? we will aim to understand ChatGPT on a surface level as well as what it reveals about human thought and language. Amazon Link.

What is ChatGPT Doing… and Why Does it Work?  is a short book of only 112 pages, making this a brief yet stimulating text to discuss together. Alternatively, Stephen Wolfram has also published a short article that can replace the book in a pinch: article link. Read either the book or article to join our virtual discussion on Wednesday, May 31st from 5:30 – 6:45 p.m. MT.

Our virtual discussion will be led by 2004 CSM Scholar, Justin Hayes (he/him) — a professional working in machine learning within the oil and gas industry. Please RSVP here as we look forward to seeing you during our discussion.
