Event Details

Ken Weaver, 1963 Boettcher Scholar, is excited to invite Boettcher Alumni and Current Scholars throughout Northern Colorado to join him to learn about James Michener’s times in Greeley and the writing of Centennial at our Michener Library Tour. Join us at UNC’s Michener Library for a dive into the archive with Professor Jay Trask, Secretary of the national James A. Michener Society. Our tour will include the opportunity to view original manuscripts, field notebooks, photographs, and slides Michener collected while writing his novels. Ken is eager to share this experience with our Alumni community.

Our Michener Library Tour will happen on Friday, December 1, from 3 to 4:30 p.m. The Michener Library is located south of the intersection of 14th Avenue and 20th Street, just past Candelaria Hall on UNC’s campus in Greeley.

Please RSVP here no later than Wednesday, 11/29, so we can confirm our group size with Professor Trask.

Following the Michener Library Tour, we encourage you to join us for our Northern Colorado Reception from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at the Rio Grande Mexican Restaurant in downtown Greeley, 825 9th St, Greeley, CO  80631. We will enjoy food, drinks, and catching up with our Boettcher community - click here to register for that partner event.

Questions: Please reach out to Ken Weaver at interweaver@gmail.com or Lori Marchando at LMarchando83@gmail.com or 303-378-7142.
