Summer Kickoff (Virtual) Fitness Challenge
You're invited to our Summer Kickoff Fitness Challenge happening from Friday, May 24th to Sunday, June 2nd via Strava.
This wellness event is about connecting Scholars and Alumni and encouraging everyone to stay active for both their mental and physical health. Summer is coming and it’s a great time to get outdoors and spend time with family and friends. Join your Boettcher Family this May and June for 10 days of walking, biking, or any other type of exercise you enjoy! While there is a competitive element to this event, our focus is on building community and supporting each other. Even if you only go for one afternoon stroll or a Memorial Day hike, join us! (And see below for the latest on our Colorado Gives Day prizes!)
LOGISTICS FOR PARTICIPATING
Download the Strava: Run, Ride, Swim app on your phone or other mobile device.
Create an account and set up your profile! All the features you need for this event should be available from the Free version, so when prompted to pay or begin your free trial, click skip to opt out of the premium version.
Once your profile is set up, navigate to “Groups,” then select the “Clubs” tab and search for “Boettchers on the Move.” Join the club and register for our event “Summer Kickoff Fitness Challenge.” The event will be open for registration until June 2nd at 11:59 pm MT in order to allow everyone to register by the end of the second weekend.
For our Summer Kickoff Fitness Challenge, we will count any running, walking, biking, skiing, hiking, or other activity towards the final prizes. There will be prizes for the most activities, the longest total distance logged, and a random participant drawing! Extra consideration will be given for creativity (7.2 miles for a ‘72 scholar, wearing fun Boettcher swag on your run, summer themed photos, etc). Strava allows you to include pictures and a description, so be sure to describe your creative take on the challenge and include your Scholar year or Boettcher affiliation!
And in an exciting update introduced last year, prize winners can choose to receive Boettcher swag or a Colorado Gives Day Giving Card. These Giving Cards allow the holder to assign the card value as a donation to a Colorado nonprofit of their choice on the Colorado Gives website.
